About Annemarie

Annemarie Bennett is a Texas based author. Her writing has appeared in the horror anthology Fish Gather to Listen, Quagmire Magazine, Black Poppy Review, and Aonian magazine. She is also the former editor-in-chief of Aonian magazine. When she isn’t writing weird stories, she is playing with her pet lizards and cat.

Awards

Her flash fiction piece "The Thing In Your Closet" won first place in the 2021 Aonian magazine fiction competition. Her poem "Some Things Stay" placed third in the 2021 Poets' Roundtable of Arkansas: Jeanie Dolan Carter Memorial Award contest. Her flash fiction piece "I Was Abducted By Aliens and All I Got Was This T-Shirt" won first place in the 2022 Aonian magazine fiction competition.
